Nxt Museum is an experimental art space in Amsterdam that explores the intersection of art, technology, science, and sound.

We commission and present ground-breaking immersive installations by pioneering living artists and are on mission to push the boundaries of what a museum can be.

Who are we looking for

You are an engaging storyteller who thrives on sparking curiosity and inspiring visitors. As a Tour Guide you’ll lead groups through our exhibitions, offering insight into our works while encouraging critical thinking and discussion. You’ll also deliver hands-on workshops, helping participants explore the intersection of art and technology in an interactive way.

You are comfortable speaking in front of groups and enjoy adapting your approach to suit different audiences, from students to professionals. With a passion for education and culture, you’ll make each visit a memorable and thought-provoking experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engaging tours that bring Nxt Museum’s exhibitions to life, ensuring visitors connect with the works in a meaningful way.

• Deliver workshops, such as Slow Looking, tailored to different groups, making complex ideas accessible and inspiring hands-on participation.

• Adapt communication styles to engage various audiences, from school groups to corporate teams.

• Stay well-informed about the museum’s exhibitions and public programs, using provided materials and your own curiosity.

• Confidently manage group dynamics and ensure an interactive, inspiring learning environment.

• Support events, educational programs, and other museum initiatives.

Experience & Profile

• Dutch speaking (mandatory), with English proficiency as a plus

• Confident public speaker with strong storytelling abilities.

• Passion for education and engaging diverse audiences.

• Experience in teaching, guiding tours, or leading workshops.

• Comfortable in front of groups, able to adapt to different audiences.

• Affinity with art, technology, and science.

• A natural host: friendly, welcoming, and able to create a positive group dynamic.

• Flexible and willing to work weekends, holidays, and events.

• Based in or near Amsterdam (or willing to travel).
