preferred start date: 1 June 2025

Internship · Nxt Museum

Nxt Museum is the first museum in the Netherlands fully dedicated to new media art. We explore the intersection of art, technology, science and innovation—and we’re always looking ahead. Our mission is to challenge conventions, spark curiosity and shape what a museum can be.

The role:

We’re looking for an Arts & Culture Intern to join our team. As an intern, you’ll support the development and organisation of creative projects—such as exhibitions, public events and artist residencies. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director, Curator, and Arts & Culture Manager, learning what it takes to realise projects at the crossroads of art and technology.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Creative Director, Curator and Arts & Culture Manager with the development and planning of creative projects;

  • Support in the coordination of events and public programmes, such as lectures, performances, parties, etc.;

  • Serve as a point-of-contact for colleagues, artists, partners and collaborators;

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.

Is it you we're looking for?

We welcome everyone: all ethnicities, personalities, characters, backgrounds, genders, non gender, queer, trans and forms of expression. If you have the following qualities and attributes to help us in our next phase, we’d love to hear from you.

Profile:

  • You’re a real team player who communicates clearly and enjoys working with others;

  • You’re reliable, organised, and pay attention to detail;

  • You have a strong interest in art and culture—and are curious about the role of technology in both;

  • You take initiative, think ahead, and enjoy finding practical solutions;

  • You have a positive, can-do attitude and like to support others;

  • You’re fluent in English, both spoken and written (Dutch is a plus).

What we offer you:

  • To be part of the most exciting space for new media art, at the forefront of art & technology;

  • A learning opportunity that will provide you with insights and hands-on experience regarding the tools, structures and processes for project management within a museum environment;

  • Supervision and support by professionals with years of experience in arts, culture and a range of other fields;

  • To join an international team where being yourself is celebrated and appreciated;

  • 425,- EUR compensation per month.

Your application:

We’d love to receive your CV and cover letter, in Dutch or English, by 4 May 2025. We look forward to hearing all about you, but also encourage keeping it short and to the point (max. 1 A4 per document).
