The role:


As our Intern Arts & Culture, you will have a supporting role in the organisation of Nxt Museum’s creative projects, exhibitions and public events. As part of the Arts & Culture team, you will work directly with the Curator, Creative Director and Arts & Culture Manager on a diverse range of activities. Help us to prepare for the next big exhibition, work directly with the artists involved and learn what it takes to organise a series of events at the intersection of art, tech, science and sound.

The Arts & Culture Intern is a team player with strong affinity to the arts and culture field. You have an open personality, with a talent for interacting with colleagues, artists, partners and collaborators at all levels. You will help the team to move projects forward in a timely and structured manner, while always making sure the quality of the content and service remain at a high level. You will be part of Nxt Museum’s core team, involved in all the day-to-day activities of running a museum.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Curator, Creative Director and Arts & Culture Manager with planning creative projects;

  • Assist with organising, planning, scheduling meetings, reaching out to the curator and artists, arranging travel, documentation;

  • Assist with planning cultural events and programmes, such as the opening of exhibitions, talks, performances, etc.;

  • Serve as a point-of-contact for colleagues, artists, partners and collaborators, actively informing them on the status of projects, requesting information and answering questions;

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.

Profile:

  • Fluent in English in both verbal and written forms, Dutch is a plus;

  • Team player with communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Reliable & detail-oriented;

  • Strong affinity to the arts and culture field and interest in technology;

  • Enjoys problem solving;

  • Organised and structured;

  • Curious, open minded and inclusive, with a global and forward-looking mindset.
